I have a high level of understanding / knowledge in this area.
A fair degree of understanding / knowledge.
About as much understanding / knowledge as the next person.
Very little understanding / knowledge.
No understanding / knowledge.
Please indicate which of the following paragraphs most applies to your circumstances.
Percentage of Benefits
A major proportion of my pension funding which should be protected as far as is reasonably possible.
A significant proportion of my pension benefits which should only be exposed to limited risk where the potential for rewards is reasonable.
Whilst of value, these benefits do not represent a significant proportion of my potential pension benefits at retirement.
An insignificant part of my overall potential pension.
Taking into account all pension benefits that you currently have, how do you consider the pension plan(s) under discussion.
Investment funds
I have no interest in this area and my main consideration is for the investments within the pension plan to be straightforward and as cheap as possible.
Whilst I would like to keep costs as low as possible, I am also keen that my investment fund(s) perform well. If the investments can be automatically managed to ensure they stay on track then all the better.
My main consideration is that the investments perform well and I am willing to accept higher costs for a wider range of investments. The ability to view the plan details online and keep an eye on things would be of interest to me.
I would like a plan which is as flexible as possible, despite the likelihood of higher costs, as I am actively looking at self investment e.g. purchasing commercial property or shares.
Taking into account the way in which your current plan is invested and your interest in getting involved in these decisions, how do you consider the pension plan(s) under discussion.
Existing pension plan(s)
I have not reviewed these plans for some time and simply want to establish if they are performing well and are competitively charged.
I would like a review of my current plans to see if they are performing well. I would prefer not to change to a different provider unless it is absolutely necessary.
I have several different pension plans and would ideally like to combine all these plans into one so that it will be easier to manage in the future.
My main consideration is investment performance and I am concerned over the poor investment choice in my current plan(s). I would prefer to move to a more modern pension plan where online access is available and a wider choice of funds is very important to me.
I extremely unhappy with my current pension plan provider and want to move to a different company.
In arriving at your decision to review the current pension plan(s), which of the following statements would apply.
Risk and Reward
I am happy to accept a larger degree of risk in exchange for the possibility of a higher pension in retirement.
I do not mind a reasonable degree of risk in the hope that my benefits could be higher in retirement.
I do not consider it appropriate to expose myself to anything other than a minimal amount of risk in the hope of increasing my pension benefits.
My main consideration is investment performance and I am concerned over the poor investment choice in my current plan(s). I would prefer to move to a more modern pension plan where online access is available and a wider choice of funds is very important to me.
I require no risk and maximum guarantees.
